ShantiNiketan Incorporated (USA), pioneers of building retirement communities in various cities across the USA, is embarking on a similar project here in Malaysia. SN is bringing its years of experience to benefit the retired population in Malaysia.
We looked at many locations across Malaysia including Kuala Kubu Bharu, Port Dickson, Batang Kali, Hulu Langat, etc.
The project will have about 120 single story homes with 2 bedrooms, a study, 2 bathrooms, Living-Dining-Kitchen (great room) on about 1,200 sqft of the built-up area plus one car garage. There will be a clubhouse of about 10,000 sqft and a swimming pool in the middle of the community. The entire community will be fenced and gated.
An initial meeting was held at the Royal Selangor Club on 26 November 2016 to assess the need and demand for this concept. About 200 persons attended the meeting and more than 40 persons had expressed an interest in buying a home in the community.
Mr. Iggy Ignatius, Founder & Chairman of SN, was present at the meeting and explained the project and answered many questions that potential buyers had. One of the main concerns people had was that in Malaysia Association Management companies were not doing a satisfactory job. Iggy assured them that the ShantiNiketan system of operating the community will not face such problems.
A follow-up meeting with the potential buyers was held on 3 December 2016 to discuss the various operations and how the ShantiNiketan system will help the residents live a peaceful and joyful life in the community.
The next meeting will be held after the contract has been signed between the builder and ShantiNiketan. Meanwhile, the advertisements are running in the STAR to line up the rest of the buyers for the homes.
